Former Atlanta Hawk Jason Collins comes out of the Closet

Former Atlanta Hawk Jason Collins comes out of the Closet

Jason Collins, a Stanford alumni and former Atlanta Hawk center announced today that he is a gay man. The thirty four year old athlete and current Washington Wizards center told Sports Illustrated:

“I wish I wasn’t the kid in the classroom raising his hand and saying, “I’m different”. If I had my way, someone else would have already done this. Nobody has that’s why I am raising my hand.”

He is currently a free agent and hopes that the Wizards or another NBA team will sign him to play next season.

Do you think Collins statement will encourage other professional athletes to come out as well? My opinion is, he will not influence other players to admit that they are gay or bisexual. Jason is a reserve basketball player with average stats and minimal playing time. He is already a 9th or 10th man on the bench and his value for a team my not out weigh the team’s distraction from the media.

Young Scooter – Columbia – Feat – Rick Ross – Birdman – Gucci

I never thought Young Scooter could get Rick Ross, Birdman, and Gucci Mane on this track together. Somehow, someway, this song is blowing up in the south. Whoever is responsible for breaking this song, I salute them. The hook is catchy and the beat is dope.

At first glance at this new song by Drake entitled “Girls Love Beyonce” I thought to myself, “another typical Drake song” smh. But then I pressed play and was immediately captivated by the production of this joint. The beat kinda gave me a r&b type vibe to set the mood while Drake’s rhyme flow complimented the track. I think this song is going to be an instant hit. Peep it yourself and comment below….

Miguel Was Down For Murder Scene In J. Cole’s ‘Power Trip’ Video

Remember when J. Cole murdered Miguel in his “Power Trip” video? It hasn’t been easy to shake that visual since the clip debuted on Tuesday, so it’s not too surprising that J. Cole’s management team was hesitant about calling up the “Adorn” singer to ask him about playing the doomed role. But at least Miguel was into it. Read the full story at MTV News or hear J. Cole explain in the video above.

Kevin Ware’s horrific leg injury sparks Louisville [Video]

kevinware

Louisville guard Kevin Ware suffered one of the most gruesome injuries in NCAA basketball history Sunday afternoon as the Cardinals faced the Duke Blue Devils in the Midwest Regional final of the NCAA Men’s Tournament. Ware’s injury stunned the crowd, both teams and the commentators when it occurred with about 6-and-a-half minutes to go in the first half of the game. While running out to defend a three-point shot by Duke’s Tyler Thornton, Ware landed awkwardly and his right leg bent and broke at an ugly and scary angle. The injury was so graphic that CBS did not show replays after he was wheeled off the floor.

The players for both teams reacted with shock and fear. The Louisville bench recoiled in horror as several of the players on court began openly crying for their injured teammate. Louisville coach Rick Pitino was seen visibly wiping away tears.

“The bone’s 6 inches out of his leg and all he’s yelling is, ‘Win the game, win the game,’” Pitino said. “I’ve not seen that in my life. … Pretty special young man.”

“Kevin Ware” immediately became a trending topic on Twitter. Former Washington Redskins quarterback Joe Theismann suffered one of the most infamous broken legs in sports history during a 1985 Monday Night Football game against the New York Giants. He tweeted his sympathy for Ware. “Watching Duke/Louisville my heart goes out to Kevin Ware,” he said.
