Bradley Defeats Pacquiao By Split Decision
Even though I made a couple of bets on this fight and I predicted that Timothy Bradley would upset Manny Pacquiao, I honestly feel like Pacquiao was robbed tonight. I don’t think Bradley did enough to win the fight, however the judges thought otherwise. This is not the first time the three judges ringside saw a different fight than everyone else, and it is certainly not the last. There was a rematch clause in the fight and it was originally set for November in the event that Timothy Bradley won.
Do you think politics played a factor? Yes I think so! Pacquiao was too powerful for the sport. What athlete has the power to delay a fight because he wants to see game 7 of the NBA semi-finals. The WBO, WBC, and IBF don’t give a damn about the NBA.
Is the Mayweather vs Pacquiao fight worth watching now? Probably not! First Pacquiao needs to recapture his belt in dominating fashion. Then, he needs to regain support from the fans and media that he’s still the #1 pound for pound boxer in the sport. Finally, he’s going to have to accept the fact that he’s not getting 50% of the purse and he will have to agree to Olympic style drug testing.
