Roger Goodell Suspends Sean Payton For One Year

The New Orleans Saints were hit hard this week over the bounty controversy. According to Yahoo Sports, the Saints were involved in a system that paid their players bonuses for injuring key players during football games. Sean Payton was suspended for one whole year for his involvement. Defensive coordinator Gregg Williams, the creator of the system and now with the St. Louis Rams was suspended indefinitely by the league. Mickey Loomis, the Saints general manager was suspended for eight games. Assistant head coach Joe Vitt, the assistant head coach was suspended for six games. The Saint’s also was fined $500,000 and will lose their second round picks for 2012-2013.
